Torrential rains, 6 months of construction, landscape architects, truck loads of plants and mature trees, tons of cement and a wheel barrel full of cash, the long awaited pool is coming to Banana Azul.
The word is getting out even though I have not published it anywhere, we have many guests writing in asking when it is going to be open. Anyone that knows anything in Costa Rica, knows that is a question that you never ask.
Here are some pics that a customer too as we were installing 10 year old royal palms.
I think in 5 years living here, that is the second time I picked up a shovel.
In Costa Rica... People are very good at watching work being done. It always seems that at least 50% watch while the other half works. Most times they trade off at some point.
I know it looks like something out of the Flintstones, but I promise it will be pretty. You know us homos.... We came. We saw. We decorated.
Now we have another excuse to come back to banana Azul!

Colin, The work never ends! --- I know it will be gorgeous. I hope the god of pool building shines down and gives good weather to let yall complete the pool sooner than later. We will be there end of July for a week and a pool would be such a pleasant surprise - just an added bonus. Can't wait.

Colin & Roberto, Hola from Fort Bragg CA. This is Don and I never cease to be amazed at the energy you guys have to keep the improvements coming. I'm closing in on the retirement date and will keep you informed about the progress of my plans. Hope to get to CR at least 1 more time before 3/2/2010 when I'm set free from the world of work. My plan is to be in CR asap after that date and to do some spanish immersion learning before i come to PV for a place to live. See you and I'll stay in touch. Don Carleton.

Colin and Roberto, the pool and landscaping are looking fabulous! Guy and I are back here working on our own pond, and wishing we were there with you. I'm glad the pic worked out for your postcard, and look forward to taking more for you after your construction is complete!
Your friends,
Susan and Guy

And having watched Banana Azul grow year after year from its conception, how true that last line is. Truly beautiful. Well done Colin and Roberto !

P.S. I refer to Banana Azul's "conception" rather than its "inception" because as anyone that's been there knows, Banana Azul is a "labour of love".
